Near the end of your piece, you mention that there are now direct flights from DC.
I know that United used to fly nonstop from Dulles, but doesn't appear to anymore. What airlines were you referring to that have non-stops? My wife and I would love to know!

Hello John - thanks for your note. United does fly nonstop from DC, but, I've just learned, discontinues that for part of the year. I visited in August. I was told Airtran will be launching weekend nonstops. I will post when I know more.
